Is this a scam? I'm a smart woman so I feel REALLY stupid!!

Hi everyone. THIS NEWBIE (me) received a letter (below) I have seen scams before but I had no clue if this was real or not. I do animal rescue (cats) and my email has been listed in breaking up a puppy mill in Lancaster PA recently (PRAISE GOD).. so I thought...maybe this guy needed help....AND the word missionary.. I thought.. maybe God brought him to me?
I've been corresponding, and he says that MONDAY his puppies will be at the airport, fees paid. Am I an idiot?. The airport is 40 miles away. Is there a chance I could be recieving drugs? PLEASE don't slam me.. I'm really looking for the truth.  He enclosed a photo of his dogs. I don't want to keep them, I would have to take them for vetting, quarentine,. and then rehome them.. NOT for money.. I'm an advocate for animals....Here is email #1...AND ON the bottom, the last email I got today stating that MONDAY the pups will arrive to Baltimore International Airpark.

Peace be unto you brethren, I am Rev.Micheal John a citizen of united state of America for a missionary tour in West Africa with my fellow missionary member and I came along with my little yorkies puppies.
 

My main purpose of writing this is to seek your help in saving the life of my little puppies because on getting in West Africa, the atmosphere is not conducive for my little puppies and they find it difficult to adapt to. I cannot bear risking the life of my little puppies by keeping them here with me for any further.

 

I am willing to give them for free to whosoever will help me save the life of my little puppies and I will be willing to do anything to ensure their safety. All I need is just a good home for them which I believe in you by God’s grace you can help save the life of my little puppies. Thanks

Thanks once again for your mail, I have received your details, I am very happy that at last my puppies will have a lovely home with you, may the good lord bless you.

 

By tomorrow I will go to the delivery office to submit the puppies and settle the delivery fees so that by Monday it will have been gotting to you. Thanks

Hello,  Yes more than likely this is a major scam, contact the airport if you are serious about picking up, let them know your feelings on the matter, as dogs or puppies need to go through quarantine at any time they are transported to the united states. Let the airport know your concerns and also contact the FDA. This way you will be protected from any underlying problems, hope this helped you.
