« on: November 19, 2007, 05:36:32 PM »
To all people that love animals. There are people that are trying to take advantage of that. I was looking for a Yorkie for my mother. I found 3, they were free. The ad said 3 free Yorkies, the lady was located in Ca, she was not, it is a scam. The ad is still up. Be very careful, we all most got taken. The ad #29815. The lady is in africa. Its all a scam. Just thought every body should know.

Hello to anyone and everyone that reads this. I hope this will help someone out.

I was looking to purchase a puppy. Great idea to come to this site right? NO! I had three people TRY to scam me. Here are a list for you to look out for (but I bet there are MANY more):

~benitasyorkshire11@yahoo.com, benita phillips who tells you to contact, ac_cutepuppies@yahoo.com

~trsyorkies@yahoo.com, Tiffany Rose Strother Trs

~cheryl.broussard1@hotmail.com, cheryl broussard who tell you to contact, susanphillips55@yahoo.com.

These people will seem nice and like good people, DO NOT BE FOOLED!!! Do not give out any info. If they say they will ship all you have to do to know if it is for real is tell them you will ship and arrange it and all they have to do is put the puppy on the flight.... I can bet you won;t hear from the person again. Ask for a phone number, using western union is a big hint that its fake because anyone can use a fake name with a fake id to pick up the money...just some little tips to try and help people out.

any one with info on annreed07@yahoo.com or annron07 or ann Lawrence .....PLEASE give me a call or email me. I paid her 300.00 for the 5 tortoises that she has advertised in various ways on many pet ads. This was on jan 14 and no tortoises have been sent. SHe will not reply to me or paypal and the time has run out on the paypal claim so i am awaiting their ruling on where we go from here. She listed her self in Alabama in one ad and in the one i replied to she said she lived in Queen Creek Az Any help would be greatly appreciated as my children and i are sick and out of the money as well.

BEWARE OF CAMEROON AFRICA PET SCAMMERS! Many of the ads for pets on this site are a scam.

These scammers from Cameroon and Nigeria AFRICA only want your money -- there is no puppy. This so-called "Cameroon Pet Scam" offers "free adoption" or way below value English Bulldog puppies, Yorkies, Maltese and other puppies, kittens, parrots, monkeys and other pets.

The story can vary as to why the animal is free or discounted -- the current owner is a missionary who needs to find the puppy a new home due to the terrible weather in its current location; the animal was rescued from a natural disaster and needs a good home; owner ís busy work schedule, etc. etc.

The scammer will then ask interested buyers to pay for the dog's shipment, down payment, inoculations and any number of other miscellaneous fees. The victims wire money for the dogs but generally only get excuses for the delay. Instead, they're repeatedly asked for more money to cover additional "fees" invented by the scammer.

Greedy scammers will concoct even more fees that the victim needs to pay after the dog has been supposedly shipped.

You can identify these pet scammers from Africa – Cameroon, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, etc. -- because they will insist you pay by money order or wire transfer (can’t be traced). Never wire funds via Western Union, MoneyGram or any other wire service -- anyone who asks you to do so is a scammer.

Notice the scammers never include a phone number in their ads -- they are located in Africa.  Always ask for a phone number and confirm the location of any person offering a  puppy.

Google everything! From email addresses to aliases to addresses, there's a good chance someone else has encountered the scammer before, and shared the experience online.

This scam is all over the internet, on every classified ads site and on puppy selling sites such as pupcity.com and puppyfind.com

My husband and I bought a beautiful male english bulldog puppy from Dawn and Antone of D&A Kennels in New York...........  The transaction went good and we got the puppy...............however, the puppy was sick.  We took puppy to Vet the next day and he was put on some antibiotics.........we thought it was the stress of the flight............anyways..............a couple of weeks had past, and he still wasn't better........we took him back to vet and the vet did x-rays and said that he would need surgery because of his throat...........so we took him the next day for surgery, and he didn't make it......  D&A Kennels offers 4 year health guarantee for any congenital health defects with a Vet letter............Well, our Vet did the letter and we sent it to Antone, several days had passed and still no word from them on the replacement of the puppy or our money back...............we finally sent a demand saying we would hire an attorney to pursue legal remedies................which we hired two attorneys just in case we needed their help.  Antone finally responded and said he would have a new puppy for us in a week..............a week passed and never heard from him, until we called him wanting to know when to expect the new puppy................he then told us it would be another week.....................as of today...................we still do not have a puppy, and no word from Dawn or Antone on a new puppy................We do have our attorney's working on a lawsuit now............

I would avoid using D&A Kennels because if something is wrong with your puppy, don't expect a new one or money back.  You might want to google D&A Kennels because it will pull up a few more peoples complaints about them............apparently their puppy died too........
