Because I am not an irresponsible backyard breeder, soliciting a living, breathing animal for profit, I am advocating  www.petfinder.org  for all of your pet needs. 

There are lots of purebred dogs and many reputable rescue groups that can help salvage lives, that an irresponsible breeder created.

I have been involved in rescue for years and see so may animals put down, for no reason other than human ignorance.  800 animals an hour are euthanized in this country every single hour. 

These animals need your help more than these breeders need your money!!

While there are lots of reputable rescue groups out there , there are also reputable breeders. And on the other hand there are unscrupulous breeders as well as rescues.
I have visited many shelters in my area. In the past three years I have found a total of 4 Poms. And they were older and some had behavior issues. I  rescue any Poms that I find in need of help. I feel as a breeder it is my responsibility to do this.
You are one of those ppl who want to put a stop to breeding all together. I find this VERY sad. If you get your wish there will eventually be NO dogs. Where will they come from?
If the HSUS would spend some of their money spaying and nuetering dogs for irresponsibel owners who cannot afford to spay/nueter or just won't spend the money to do so , the overpopulation problem may not be so bad. The majority of dogs in shelters are large to med mixed breeds. These dogs did not come from reputable breeders.

 Saying that the time may come when there will be no dogs if breeders were put out of business (something that is not going to happen) is a very dumb thing to say. There will ALWAYS be dogs and there will always be too many that are unwanted, just because they are not the fancy breed that someone is looking for as a status symbol. Most of the dogs at pounds and shelters are not pedigrees. A lot of people don't want just a "mutt" because it doesn't get them the attention that a popular breed can. I see so many online ads with sweet pictures of babies,cats and dogs,that were ONLY brought into this world just to make a buck. You cannot deny that some of these are sold for an astronomical price,and yet you can go into any shelter and find WONDERFUL,LOVING PETS for less than $100. How anyone can make a great deal of money off of the lives of innocent puppies and kittens that were forced into this world is beyond me. But there will never,ever be a shortage of dogs.

I do not love Poms, my breed of choice because they are status symbol. I love the unique traits that only this breed has. And I hate to see the day when purebreds are outlawed because idiots like you only want ppl to own mutts. Instead of blaming breeders put the blame where it belongs, irresponsible OWNERS who let their MUTTS breed.

What I had to say was not idiotic. There are TOO many dogs that are unwanted because of the way they look, the mixed breed they are. The young and healthy purebreds that come into the shelter where I work get adopted fast while the young and healthy and just as lovable mixed breeds will stay for a long,long time. I did not in any way say anything that isn't true,and did not say anything as asinine as your statement about no dogs being left in this world.
